There are people who get sick when infected and there are people who don't. My focus is on the host as it determines whether an infected person gets sick and on the genomics of the microorganism that determines the virulence. By exploring the interaction of the host and genomics, I am pursuing research aimed at the emergence of new therapeutic and preventive methods. Through the collaboration with Nagasaki University, I believe that this research will flourish.
